I have this friend Jack who I must admit is probably more noise than signal. That is, you really have to hang out with him a lot to find his wisdom, but when he horks forth, it's often a lot of fun.
One I've always liked:
"A liberal is someone who has more intelligence than experience. A conservative is someone who has more experience than intelligence."
When you read that keep in mind that *no* degrees are assigned to intelligence or experience. In other words, you might have a conservative that is the most intelligent person on earth - they just happen to have a little more experience than even that. This is not assigning some level of intelligence or experience to conservatives or liberals, its merely observing which one is more plentiful.
